Ridge Lytton Springs Zinfandel 2009

Ripe black cherry/raspberry nose, with notes of pepper, licorice, chaparral, and tobacco. Rich black fruit on the palate. Full and viscous. Well-coated tannins and a long, layered finish.

"The 2009 Lytton Springs is the biggest and most structured of these 2009 Zinfandel-based reds, largely owing to the earthier soils and the presence 23% Petite Sirah. Black fruit, plums, tar, licorice and smoke are some of the notes that flow from this generous, inviting red. The Lytton Springs is fairly structured, and can definitely benefit from another year or two (perhaps more) in bottle. The blend is 74% Zinfandel, 21% Petite Sirah and 5% Carignane. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2029. "

Two Angels Petite Sirah 2007

The grapes for Two Angels come from the renowned Shannon Ridge Vineyards, extremely volcanic, red pumice stone terroir. Hugging the mountain rims along the east edge of the High Valley AVA at close to 2,200 feet (the highest vineyards in California), the area is reminiscent of the Rhone Valley's Crozes-Hermitage vineyards. All the grapes for this wine came from a vineyard with a slope of 40 degrees. The fruit was all hand-picked and hand-sorted before cold soaking and a long, cool fermentation. The wine ages for ten months using 25-percent new French oak.

The 2007 Two Angels Petite Sirah is "dark as the night" and boasts savory aromas of ripe, dark berries (blackberry, boysenberry and raspberry), violets, and ripe plum, with a hint of roast game. Abundant fruit flavors in this well-structured wine are nicely integrated with toasted oak and a touch of black licorice.thoughtful winemaking helps Miner create elegant, expressive wines.

Joel Gott Zinfandel 2008

This California Zinfandel balances rich and graceful flavors characteristic of each region farmed. Dry-farmed, old-head-trained vines in Lodi and Amador produce intense, structured fruit while the Napa Valley harvest adds power, depth and complexity. Fruit from the cooler climate of Sonoma County offers classic Zinfandel aromatics of pepper and anise. Together, these diverse regions produce a Zinfandel packed with flavors of licorice, plums, Bing cherries and blackberries with a deep, long finish.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery Diamond Zinfandel 2009

Our Diamond Collection Zinfandel is crafted by blending fruit from several different appellations, which feature different clone selections, soil types and cultivation methods. We source both hot and cool climate Paso Robles fruit as well as fruit from Sonoma County. By combining these different styles of Zinfandel, we achieve a wine of greater complexity and character. 2009 was an excellent vintage that experienced a mild spring, warm summer weather and no abrupt climate changes at season's end. These conditions resulted in profusely aromatic fruit with exceptional weight and balance. We also added an extra layer of complexity by blending in a small amount of Petite Sirah. The resulting wine has a solid structure and mature tannins, which balance Zinfandel's inherently jammy nature.

Appearance Red-violet
Aromas Crushed raspberries, strawberries, toasted oak.
Flavors Briary blackberries, plums, pepper, cloves and cola.
