Gary Farrell Carneros Pinot Noir 2009

This Pinot Noir was hand harvested and sourced from some of the most famous vineyards of the Russian River Valley, including Rochioli, Allen and Hallberg. These vineyards are meticulously farmed for us, yielding a wine with depth, concentration and a broad array of flavors.

Shows tremendous concentration and power from this blockbuster vintage. Intense aromas of dark fruits, particularly cherries and plums, are matched with warm spices and a leathery earthiness. The palate shows great depth, weight and acidity with a seductive texture which leads to a balanced finish that confirms the nose. Wonderfully balanced acidity and generous fruit that will pair beautifully with grilled rosemary pork tenderloin.

Merryvale Carneros Pinot Noir 2009

The grapes for this wine come from our Estate Vineyard on the historic Stanly Ranch, in the Napa area of Carneros, along with select vineyards in Carneros. Now fully mature, our estate vineyard was planted in 2001 with newly available clones that are transforming the quality and character of Carneros Pinot Noir into richer and darker wines. The grapes were handpicked and carefully sorted. The wine was aged for twelve months in French Oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Bright and focused leading to a round, generous mid-palate with moderately bright acidity, notes of cherry, cranberry, and a finish of lingering toasty oak.

La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir develops beautifully in the cool vineyards of the Sonoma Coast. Extending from the Mendocino/Sonoma border down along the coast and through the Russian River Valley, then south to Los Carneros, these vineyards are unified by a common feature: lingering ocean fog and brisk winds that moderate temperatures throughout the growing season and slow the ripening process. The results at harvest are small Pinot Noir berries with firm acidity and highly concentrated varietal aromas and flavors that center on juicy cherry and spice.

A perennial favorite, this Pinot Noir offers aromas of lush cherry and red plum, with subtle hints of black tea and cola. On the palate, flavors are ripe and elegant, centering on red cherry and spice with a touch of earthiness and dark chocolate. A rich, juicy mid-palate and vivid acidity lead to plush tannins on the finish. The result is a fabulous, appealing food wine – enjoy.

La Crema Sonoma Monterey Noir 2009

The majority of fruit for this vintage was grown on our estate vineyard located on a sloping bench in the Arroyo Seco sub-appellation of Monterey. This unusually planted site was laid out to optimize the sunshine distribution on both sides of the vine, leading to even ripening of fruit clusters. High-density planting (4x3 vine spacing) also contributes to the outstanding quality of this fruit. Vines must push deeper into the soil, creating smaller clusters and berries, lower sugars at physiological maturity with exceptionally balanced pH and acid levels.

What does this mean in the glass? Brooding, earthy aromas meld with juicy ripe plum, punctuated by lovely notes of black tea. The palate echoes the juicy, plum-filled nose, joined by black licorice and cocoa powder. A subtle earthiness leads to a generous, fleshy mid-palate and a smooth, mineral-laced finish.

Au Bon Climat Santa Barbara Pinot Noir 2009

A blend of Premiere Coastal Grapes: Los Alamos, Rancho Vinedo, Garey, Bien Nacido and Le Bon Climat vineyards. This cuvee really reflects the 2009 vintage with balanced fruit flavors, structure, and surprising richness. Like all ABC Pinots in all price ranges there is sophistication to this wine.

This is an amazing wine for the price. With so many Pinots shooting up in price this is still a perfect by-the-glass wine. Drink this with any grilled meat; the smoky flavors really bring out the best in this wine. The structure of this wine will hold together for many years, it is drinking well right now and will improve and evolve for another 3 or 4 years.

Blackstone Pinot Noir Winemaker's Select 2009

Brimming with cherry and raspberry fruit, the 2008 Blackstone Winemaker’s Select Pinot Noir is a classic example of a vibrant, fruit- forward Pinot Noir. Blackstone selected top vineyards from California’s finest growing regions to create a supple, delicious Pinot Noir. The grapes from cool Monterey County and Valley North contribute refined fruit flavors while the fruit from Valley South, Paso Robles, and San Benito County imparts rich, concentrated layers to the blend. The final result is a distinctive and enjoyable California Pinot Noir. The grapes were night harvested and immediately delivered to the winery to maintain acidity and maximum freshness. Subsequently, the fruit was crushed, pressed, and then fermented. The juice then underwent malolactic fermentation in French and American oak barrels to enhance the textural profile and creamy mouthfeel. Displaying a delicate nose of rose petals and red raspberries followed by layers of toasted cinnamon and spice, the 2008 Blackstone Winemaker’s Select Pinot Noir is a balanced wine, with loads of lively raspberry, plum, and vanilla flavors. This medium-bodied Pinot Noir pairs nicely with roasted chicken, grilled salmon, and light cheeses.
